DESCRIPTION OF CLINICAL PRACTICE

Allowing adults and couples to find connection and foster relationships with authentic trust, to experience meaning, and feel alive. Developing self, intimacy and investing in life is challenging for adults maltreated as children, with traumatic bonding or Stockholm syndrome. I encourage the building of awareness regarding being emotionally threated/intimidated, ignored/abandoned, and rejected/humiliated in an effort to let go of conflicting anger and resentment, indifference to separation, and shame from supporting an abuser, guilt, or blaming. Although I call it as I see it, I'm also accepting, intimate, and suppportive. I believe your inherent capacities can become capabilities. Even in extreme cases, there is always hope.

VIPASSANA MEDITATION EXPERIENCE

In 2007, I began a daily practice of meditation, my teachers being Gil Fronsdal and Tara Brach. My daily sitting practice allows for clear observation, acceptance, and also includes the practices of equanimity, metta, and loving kindness. Teachings inform my growth as a therapist and the practice of mindfulness and meditation are core to my life and work.
