DESCRIPTION OF CLINICAL PRACTICE
In over 10 years of work in the field, I've come to see that we each have a deep inner wisdom, a part that knows how to heal and what is best for us. This part is often clouded over by many layers of fear, confusion, trauma and conditioning. My relational, somatic, and mindfulness-based approach is fine tuned to create a safe and generative environment in which you can relax into your experience, connect to a deeper source of knowing, and begin to dismantle the layers.
These layers reside in our body, emotions and psyche--three often neglected aspects of our being. I will help you to listen deeply, tune into the subtleties of your experience, and find the meaning within it. As we touch upon deeper and deeper layers, the life that has been trapped within begins to express itself and greater creativity, desire, and direction emerge.
VIPASSANA MEDITATION EXPERIENCE
I have a daily sitting practice, as well as a regular meditation group, which provides me with support, encouragement and accountability in deepening my practice. I find residential retreats invaluable in supporting both my personal and spritual growth and my clinical practice.
RELEVANT CLINICAL TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
I graduated from the California Institute of Integral Studies, where I received a solid grounding in holistic, relational psychodynamic, attachment, trauma, and existential theories. I also found CIIS to be a supportive environment in which to explore my curiosity about psychedelics as an adjunct to psychotherapy. My training provided me with experience working with adults and children of diverse cultures, ethnicities, and sexual orientations, struggling with a wide range of concerns. My current interests and training focus on depth psychology and somatic approaches to the treatment of trauma.
